SHORT MAT BOWLS END OF SEASON
The short mat bowling season ended on the 8th of April with the Club Short Mat Championship having been held on Wednesday 6th April. The finalist were Mike Pound and Ron Seale. It proved to be an entertaining match with Ron taking an early lead then Mike catching up to level the score after the 18th end. Mike took the match with his last wood of the 19th end.
There were some last minute, replacements and rearrangements of the officials, due to our old foe Covid. Cliff Kelly kindly took over the presentations from Roger and Lorraine replaced Mick Dyas as the marker. Many thanks to them for filling in.
After the presentations to the finalists Cliff then presented the winners of the three Short Mat Leagues with their prizes.
We look forward to having another enjoyable season starting at the end of September, when hopefully more of our new members will feel confident enough to join our leagues. It is a fun evening just a touch more competitive than a roll-up.
2022- SHORT MAT CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
