2024\/5-TBC Short Mat Championship Final<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tonbridge Bowling Club\u2019s Short Mat Final lived up to the expectations of all that attended and took part, a good turn out of supporters watched Andy Holman and John Carter battle it out. Andy came out as a worthy winner after 17 ends of high quality bowling by both himself and his opponent John it was a great game and the turning point came in the 16th end John was holding 3 that would have made it 15-15 but Andy came in with his last wood to claim victory with the last end not being played. After the game a few beers where consumed with lots of \u201cwhat if\u201d stories, now everybody is looking forward to some proper bowling outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Farman presented the trophies together with the Champions of the Tuesday Triples League. Congratulations to Tuesday league winners see photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023-SHORT MAT FINAL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An excellent Final was held on 5th April between current Champion Mike Pound and Ronny Rossberg in front of a couple of dozen short mat supporters. Mick Dyas marked this match with Ronny surging ahead by 9 ends with Mike fighting back to within 2 shots by the final end. See photos attached of the game with Ronny winning the Championship. Shirley Jones organised another successful evening followed by presentation of the cup and distribution of prizes to the three league winners over the 2022\/3 season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Final of the SMB Club Championship was held on 6th April at 7 p.m.<\/strong> between Ron Seale and Mike Pound.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike won after a very close match after an extra end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHORT MAT CHAMPIONSHIP 2020-FINAL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Due to the lockdown at the end of last short mat season the final had to be delayed. The final between Shirley Jones and Dave Lane was played yesterday the 13th November 2021. This was a close game with Shirley building up 7-0 lead then back to 13 all after 16 ends. Retired Ladies obviously have the stamina with Shirley winning 16-13 in a closely fought match which was marked by Cliff Kelly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHORT MAT BOWLS SEASON 2018-9<\/strong>
The Short Mat Bowls season ended on 2nd April 2019 with the short mat Championship Final. The finalists were Barry Marshall and Christine Perryman with Christine winning an exciting final and becoming only the second lady to win the Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
